About us
McNeil Construction & Real Estate was established in 1995 in Yzerfontein, a West Coast Town, only 50 minutes’ drive from Cape Town CBD. McNeil was founded by Cecil Wheatley, who worked as a contracts manager and site agent for the building giant Group Five, 20 years prior. In 2006 Cecil was joined by his son Douglas Wheatley after completing his N. Dip in Construction Technology.
Fast forward to today, and McNeil Construction has gone from strength-to-strength having successfully completed over 120 residential homes.
A large majority of our clients are based across South Africa and in foreign countries. We therefore like to provide them with peace of mind by managing all aspects of the build, keeping them informed throughout. Even long after completion of a project we are still eager to lend a helping hand.
Quality is important to us, and we are extremely proud to have featured in architectural and design publications such as Top Billing© amongst others over the years.

Douglas McNeil Wheatley
Owner
His love for construction runs deep. He grew up in Yzerfontein and accompanied his dad Cecil to many construction sites throughout his childhood. He has been part of the McNeil Group for 20 years.
